Well its been a crazy week two of life with Molly. We've managed to take some pictures along the way and wanted to get these out for folks to see. Felisa's mother came out to visit Molly and help around the house. We enjoyed her stay and she was a wonderful help.
We spent most of week two trying to get Molly to breast feed correctly. When things are not going well in the feeding department life can get stressful and emotional (Are we feeding our baby enough? Why is she still hungry? Whye isn't there any milk left. on and on). Long story short we were at our wits end on Sunday evening. We had taken several trips to the UNM lactation clinic last week and received all sorts of advice, but we were looking at our last 1.5 oz of breast milk. Molly was not latching on and as a result Felisa could not produce enough milk. We said a prayer and the Lord had us make one last call to our doula (Denise). Denise had provided us such good care during the birth. Denise, determined to have us succeed, offered to come to the house (an hour drive for her) and help Felisa and Molly. Three hours later Molly was breast feeding and now 24 hours removed Molly is getting fed plenty and Felisa still has milk left to pump. Prasie be to the Lord!! Thank you Denise!!!!! You are an angle and truly have a gift.
As we humbly move forward this week we look forward to arrival of Simon's Brother and Sister-In-Law (David and Melissa) on Friday. We ask for your continued prayers for good feedings for Molly and sleep and rest for her parents. Until next time.

I'm so glad y'all got that worked out. We had a hard time at first, too, because Kate was early she didn't have the suckling action down like most newborns do. Fortunately our great lactation consultant got us going before we left the hospital. But she still lost a lot of weight and didn't get back to her birth weight for a full month. So scary when you're a new mommy & daddy. We'll keep y'all in out prayers. Thanks for the update!
Proof that God does answer prayer! I will continue praying for good latches and milk supply. It is a lot of work at first but will get easier I promise! Hang in there!
