So Thankful...

We hope this finds you all enjoying the day the Lord has made! I know...it's been another 3 months since I have posted ANYTHING.....who knows, maybe 2013 will be the year that I am more consistent with this blog - ha! I love celebrating birthdays and reflecting on the gift of life. I enjoy Christmas because I feel like it's a birthday celebration that doesn't stop - how cool! Being able to reflect on the enormous gift of Jesus throughout the entire year is a game-changer for me. It changes my every day, my moment to moment and my outlook on my life in this world. Christmas is one part of the celebration - that Jesus came to live, die & save is part of the reason for the season. Only part. The story of the cross is so much more than the birth of Jesus - may we reflect EVERYDAY on living the cross-centered life and what that means in our daily life. We end 2012 on a note of Thanksgiving - so thankful for the Lord's provision, protection and blessing in our lives this year. The girls are growing so fast - Molly will be 4 yrs old in January and Zoe will be 2 yrs old in May. Molly is loving school (we are homeschooling) and she is trying her hand at tennis, swimming, singing, skiing, riding her bike, & playing dress up! She is busy :) She is a very caring & loving big sister for Zoe and it's been a joy to watch her grow to know the Lord. Zoe is a "pistol" and we love her! She is loud, vivacious and funny. Her sense of humor is hilarious and she's going to be our jokester for sure. She enjoys exploring how things work : opening/closing doors, putting shapes into the shape-sorter box, making music and dancing to it, and playing jokes on us all. We are blessed to have such great children who are growing in the admonition of the Lord. Simon is enjoying his job at Scitor and still travels quite a bit, but the Lord has been gracious to provide for all of our needs when Simon is here or away. Simon has enjoyed riding his mountain bike quite a bit this year and he was able to make time to ride in Moab & Durango this year. We also did a family trip when he rode in a 24 MTB race in June. I have enjoyed a fair amount of riding myself - on my bike pulling the trailer with the girls. I was able to get a group of moms out this summer to ride with me and pull their kids as well - it was fun and a great workout! The weather has been so mild so far in NM that we may be riding all winter long here. We started homeschooling Molly in May and I have been blessed beyond measure for being obedient to the Lord's calling in this area of my life. I never would have imagined that this would be what we were led to do, but we have seen fruits from this and we look forward to watching the Lord grow our family. Simon and I were able to enjoy a few "bucket list" trips (without kids) as well - we rode the Copper Triangle bike ride on the tandem (no kids) in August - it was an 80+ ride over Fremont, Tennessee and Vail Passes in Colorado and then we just returned from running the Big Sur Half Marathon in Monterrey,CA. It was awesome and we could not have asked for a better day to run along as the waves were crashing on the shore. This year has not always been an easy one, but we are thankful and joyful to the Lord for his grace and willingness to sanctify us through it all. We love and miss you all - if you're wanting warmer weather this winter, take a trip to the SW and come see us! We would love to catch up with you. May the Lord bless and keep you all!
